Congratulations to Lillian (Lily) Knaack, who earned second place in the Illinois MTNA Young Artist Competition. A second-year undergraduate music performance major in the saxophone studio, she studies with Dr. Nicki Roman. The competition was held at Blackburn College, where Lily performed a 40-minute program from memory with pianist Casey Dierlam Tse (MM ’08).
Lily Knaack is a second year Saxophone Performance major at the University of Illinois. She is a current member of the Illinois Winds Symphony, the University of Illinois Saxophone ensemble, and the ANUBIS Saxophone Quartet as the soprano chair. This past June, she attended the American Saxophone Academy at the University of Michigan Ann-Arbor and was chosen as a masterclass participant with Dr. Arno Bornkamp. She was also recently named alternate in the Illinois MTNA Young Artist’s woodwind competition.
